Shasta Story |
Shasta
was born on January 26, 1999 in Lucens, Switzerland. Lucens is a small
village outside Lausanne. His mother is Nimbelmoss of High Hopes and
his father is Lorinford Otto. Shasta comes from the High Hopes kennel,
which is owned and managed by Ms. Christian Sonnay. Ms. Sonnay is the
president of the Golden Retriever society of Switzerland and is internationally
respected as a breeder.

As
always with Ms. Sonnay, from the very beginning all the puppies
were given extra care and loving. They had their own house to sleep
and eat in, and as they grew stronger they had a play area that
helped them develop coordination as well as social skills. |

Ms.
Sonnay knew that we would be coming to Switzerland to get Shasta
and take him to his new life in America, and we are sure that
she took extra special care in selecting and raising Shasta, so
he would always remember her and never have a doubt that he was
loved. We have continued that tradition, of course.
And
so on April 6, 1999, we picked up Shasta, stayed in Switzerland
for a few days, and flew back to California where we all have
been happy ever since.
